Veteran British actor Terence Stamp passed away on the 17th at the age of 87. He was widely known for playing the major villain 'General Zod' in the Hollywood blockbuster film 'Superman' and its sequels.
In a statement sent to Reuters, Terence's family stated that he passed away on the morning of the 17th. The statement said: "He leaves behind an exceptionally rich body of work, and whether as an actor or a writer, he will continue to move and inspire people for many years to come."
According to reports, Terence was born in London’s East End in 1938 and lived through the bombing of London during World War II. After leaving school, he initially worked in advertising but eventually received a scholarship to study at a drama school. During his lifetime, he appeared in films including the 2008 film 'Valkyrie' starring Tom Cruise, as well as 'The Adjustment Bureau' starring Matt Damon in 2011. Terence was once nominated for an Academy Award.
