Signing of Green Energy Cooperation MOU: Malaysia and China Jointly Promote Project Implementation

(Kuching, 31st) The Malaysia-China Green Energy Cooperation and Development Exchange Meeting and Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was recently (26th) held in Shanghai.

Dr. Chen Shijun, President of the Malaysia Sustainable Green Energy Association (MSGEA), together with committee member Lin Zhijie, attended the meeting in Shanghai for Malaysia-China Green Energy Cooperation and Development Exchange, during which an MOU on cooperation was signed with Shanghai Pudong Dafeng Carbon Neutrality Innovation and Development Research Institute (SPCNI).

The event was attended by Zhang Zhao'an, Counselor to the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Chief Expert of SPCNI; Gu Bing, Second-level Inspector of the Association for Science and Technology in Pudong New Area, Shanghai; and Lu Qixing, Second-level Inspector of the Pudong New Area Commerce Commission, Shanghai, among other leaders.

Gu Jun, the Director of SPCNI, introduced the cooperation situation in Malaysia over the past three years and shared future prospects; Dr. Chen Shijun, President of MSGEA, also introduced Sarawak's green energy development plan as well as future partnership opportunities with Chinese enterprises.

Committee member Lin Zhijie elaborated on cooperation opportunities for Malaysian and Chinese enterprises in the field of sustainable green energy, which attracted the attention of Zhang Hong from Kaisa (Shanghai) Investment Management Co., Ltd. Zhang presented an in-depth discussion on the investment direction for Sarawak projects, stating that energy, agriculture, and infrastructure will be key areas of interest for capital in the future.

Yao Feng Gu, Director/Vice President of Pacific Holdings Limited and China Agricultural Holdings Limited, also shared his enterprise's concerns and needs during the process of expanding abroad and expressed great interest in participating in the Sarawak modern fishery farming project.

Such projects, which benefit government, enterprises, society, and markets while possessing the attributes of sustainable green development, are highly consistent with Sarawak's future economic development plans. The Malaysia Sustainable Green Energy Association and SPCNI both look forward to building a platform for cooperation to jointly promote project implementation.

After the speeches and exchanges of ideas among enterprise representatives present, Lu Qixing, Second-level Inspector of the Pudong New Area Commerce Commission, Shanghai, provided insightful commentary. He specifically highlighted the importance of building overseas service infrastructure for Chinese enterprises and discussed how to provide better services for Chinese companies participating in Malaysia's economic development activities; this is a direction that the Malaysia Sustainable Green Energy Association and SPCNI can consider and implement. This constructive suggestion was approved by the attendees.

Zhang Zhao'an, Counselor to the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and Chief Expert of SPCNI, delivered the closing remarks. He pointed out the necessity of Malaysia-China cooperation and analyzed the directions for sustainable green energy partnership, which completely aligns with the overall Chinese economic backdrop and the broader trend of economic cooperation between Malaysia and China.

While fully affirming the cooperation between both sides, he also put forward requirements for on-the-ground implementation, expressing hopes that through cooperation between civil organizations in Malaysia and China, Chinese enterprises' overseas expansions can be facilitated, thereby driving economic growth in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Afterwards, Director Gu Jun and President Chen Shijun signed the cooperation MOU on behalf of SPCNI and MSGEA, respectively. Zhang Zhao'an and Lin Zhijie, as witnesses from both sides, also co-signed the MOU.
