During the interception operation against the "Global Resilience Flotilla" by the Israeli military from the night of the 1st to the morning of the 2nd, 41 ships were controlled and over 400 people were detained. These individuals will be deported.
According to Israeli media reports, Israel’s Navy commando teams, missile fleets, and port security forces participated in the interception operation, taking control of the flotilla that was transporting humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military first boarded 6 large vessels, then took over smaller boats, and the entire operation lasted about 12 hours. All vessels have been towed to Ashdod Port in southern Israel.
On the 2nd, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the Israeli military for its interception of the flotilla, saying that the operation had prevented dozens of ships from "entering the war zone."
After the interception incident, multiple countries issued statements condemning Israel's blatant violation of international law, urging Israel to ensure the safety of the people on board and to release them immediately. On the 1st, Colombia announced the expulsion of all Israeli diplomats from its country in response to the detention of two Colombian citizens during Israel's interception of the "Global Resilience Flotilla" in international waters.
The "Global Resilience Flotilla" members come from more than 40 countries, seeking to break Israel’s maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip in place since 2007. The Israeli side accuses the flotilla members of being connected to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which the flotilla organizers firmly deny.
