(Brazil, 16th) Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu, will be traveling to Belém, Brazil from Monday (November 17) to Friday (November 21) to attend the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference and related meetings. She will represent Singapore in the conference’s negotiation outcomes and deliver the national statement, outlining Singapore’s stance and commitments in climate action.
In a press release on Sunday (November 16), the Ministry of Sustainability said that during the meetings, Grace Fu will participate in various activities hosted at the Singapore Pavilion at COP30, including "Carbon Markets Day" and "Adaptation and Resilience Day" thematic events, a high-level fireside chat on urban heat resilience co-hosted with Brazil, as well as a session titled "Unlocking Climate Finance for Sustainable Food Systems Transformation."
In addition, Grace Fu will also take part in youth projects organized by youth representatives of the Youth Climate Action Training Program.
Grace Fu will also hold bilateral meetings with environment ministers from other countries to jointly discuss advancing global climate action and strengthening bilateral cooperation in environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
Officials from the National Climate Change Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Ministry of Trade and Industry will join Grace Fu on the trip.
