(Kuching, 20th) The 11th "2025 Sarawak Career and Training Fair," organized by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, will take place on July 5 and 6 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). The event is expected to attract over 18,000 on-site visitors.
This grand event is a strategic partnership project between the Ministry and the Sarawak People’s Economic Trust (TEGAS), with strong support from the Social Security Organization (SOCSO) and Sarawak Petroleum Company (PETROS). The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg, will personally officiate the opening ceremony.
Sarawak Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Seri Roland Sagah stated during a press conference held at the Sarawak Council today that the fair, first launched in 2012 by the Human Development Department under the Sarawak Premier’s Office, has become the largest annual platform in the local education and employment sectors.
“With the assistance of SOCSO, the 2025 fair will feature an open interview session, offering 1,561 job opportunities in industries such as construction, manufacturing, and services. Additionally, SOCSO will host career exploration activities to help job seekers, especially students, clarify their career directions.”
One of this year’s highlights is the "Oil and Gas Zone," led by Sarawak Petroleum Company, attracting industry giants such as PETRONAS, ENEOS Xplora, Mubadala, Brooke Dockyard, and Petra Energy to exhibit.
Roland Sagah revealed that last year, the fair was held simultaneously in Sibu for the first time alongside Kuching, drawing a total of 29,068 attendees, with 20,240 visitors in Kuching and 8,828 in Sibu.
He added that this year, the event is expected to attract over 18,000 on-site visitors from across Sarawak, while online page views are estimated to exceed 50,000.
To enhance the interactivity and enjoyment of the event, the fair will feature multiple supporting activities, including the "Sarawak Advocacy Information Wall," "Sarawak Mega Quiz Challenge," "STEM Playground," "Skills Master Competition," "2025 Sarawak Blockchain and Crypto Day," "Sarawak Rocket Man CAN-SAT Challenge," "Sultan Iskandar Planetarium," "Kids Fun Zone," "Youth Icon Forum," and "S-CaT Kamboh Stage," providing rich and diverse content suitable for all age groups to participate.
