Accused of 'Six Major Offenses', Bai Lu Files Lawsuit and Condemns Defamation

China's popular actress Bai Lu was recently accused by a scriptwriter of allegedly using her privileged status to intervene in a new drama, reportedly replacing the screenwriting team just before filming began. This sparked a media storm and further allegations—including academic fraud, unlawfully applying for a level-three actor title, improper relationships with investors, and romantic affairs—totaling six rumors, which quickly rose to the top of trending search lists.

On Friday (June 12), Bai Lu's studio issued a 'sixfold clarification' statement, strongly refuting the rumors as defamation and officially filing a lawsuit through her lawyers. The law firm revealed that the first batch of lawsuits had already been filed against nine individuals, with another 61 accounts under scrutiny. They plan to request disclosure of the real identities of the rumor mongers and pursue accountability to the end. Many fans voiced their support, stating that Bai Lu has long been a victim of malicious AI face swapping and fabricated pornographic rumors, and is justified in defending herself legally. However, some netizens questioned whether the 'mass-dispatched' legal letters were simply a means to silence criticism, urging her to directly post screenshots of her credentials from Xuexin.com and her professional evaluation materials, causing the incident to remain a heated controversy.
