Since the first "Fast & Furious" film debuted in 2001, the franchise is now approaching its final chapter! Lead actor Vin Diesel recently revealed that the 11th installment, also the last mainline film of the series, "Fast Forever" (Fast & Furious 11), is expected to officially start filming in December, with a global release slated for March 17, 2028. What’s even more surprising is that Diesel admitted he couldn’t hold back tears after reading the latest script, exclaiming, "Sometimes, even the toughest people in the world need to cry."
Diesel attended a special screening event commemorating the 25th anniversary of the original "Fast & Furious" film, sharing his experience with the audience. He said, "After going through four groups of writers and four years of development, I read the script—and about halfway through, a single tear fell. By the time I finished reading this script we worked so hard on for four years, hoping to give you the best, I was already crying and couldn’t hold back." He then added emotionally, "I just want to tell everyone, sometimes, even the toughest people in the world need to cry."
"Fast & Furious" is one of Universal Pictures' longest-running franchises and also one of its most profitable IPs—the series has now grossed over $7.3 billion (about 29.6 billion ringgit) worldwide.
