On the evening of the 9th, a train collision occurred near Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, injuring dozens of people.
Slovak Interior Minister Šutaj Eštok, at the scene of the accident, pointed out that the incident did not cause any fatalities, but 11 people were taken to the hospital for treatment, with several dozen others sustaining minor injuries.
Slovak Prime Minister Fico called on social media for every effort to be made to treat the injured, adding that after the rescue operation is completed, a thorough investigation is needed to determine whether the cause was a technical failure or human error.
There have been consecutive train collisions in Slovakia within the past month. On October 13th, a collision between two trains occurred in the Košice region in eastern Slovakia, injuring about 100 people.
