TVB Best Actress龚嘉欣 (Rebecca Zhu) went on a trip to Malaysia with friends 陈凯琳 (Grace Chan) and 郑嘉颖 (Kevin Cheng) couple. Today (9th), she took some time to accept a joint interview with the Malaysian media, generously discussing her views on relationships. At 35, she candidly said she was too focused on her career before, which makes her a bit anxious about marriage now, and acknowledged that her friends are constantly introducing potential partners to her. When asked if she might suddenly have a flash marriage, 龚嘉欣 laughed and said, "Flash! Flash!" Her anxious response caused the entire room to burst into laughter.
龚嘉欣 stated that she is still single, joking that she also wants to fall in love. She shared her views on love: "At 20, I fantasized about getting married at 25, then at 25 I thought about 30, and now at 35, I'm a little anxious. I was too focused on work before, which makes me feel a bit pressured now." She joked that her friends are working hard to introduce potential partners to her, and she is trying not to be so much of a homebody. "They arrange gatherings to make it more natural, so it won't be awkward. But ultimately, becoming my other half is a lot of pressure, and since relationships are mutual, I also have many aspects that require others' tolerance and can be difficult to get along with, so it's all about mutual compatibility."
When it comes to the topic of marriage, 龚嘉欣 also asked everyone back: "How do you identify the right person?" She said she knows that everyone is worried for her but believes that it can't be rushed. "I take relationships seriously and might only announce my marriage afterwards." She then emphasized, "But right now, there's nothing going on!"
She also admitted that she likes children very much. Now that her close friends have children, she has become half a mother: "At gatherings, I always help take care of the babies. Maybe in the future, I might not have children, but I would still be happy, just go with the flow!" When asked if she would consider a flash marriage, she immediately replied: "Flash! Flash! I used to plan a lot, but now if I meet someone and both of us are willing to take that step, why not seize happiness early?"
Asked if she has considered finding a partner in Malaysia, she laughed and said: "Of course, it's also good if the opportunity arises. I remember 黄翠如 (Mandy Wong) said she would introduce some guys to me, and I want to follow up on that. If fate brings it, it wouldn't be surprising if I marry into Malaysia in the future!"
Talking about this trip to Malaysia, 龚嘉欣 revealed that upon learning that her friend 陈凯琳 was coming, she happened to have a few days off and decided to join the trip. "I really miss the food here, like bak kut teh and curry noodles, and I plan to have some laksa before the flight. This trip is very short; next time, I want to go to Penang and Malacca to explore further."
Before the pandemic, 龚嘉欣 had invested in opening a Hong Kong-style hot pot restaurant in Malaysia, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it closed down. "Last year, I thought about starting a business again, but I'm afraid I can't handle it all by myself. I believe there's no free lunch, and I want to be hands-on. I'm currently gathering opinions and might not open a hot pot restaurant but could also try something else."
龚嘉欣, who debuted 16 years ago, won the Best Actress award at the '2024 TVB Anniversary Awards' for her role in 'Corporate Heights,' beating strong contenders like 杨茜尧 (Tavia Yeung) and 林夏薇 (Rosina Lam), which was considered an upset and even a disappointing result by some. In response, 龚嘉欣, showing high EQ, replied, "Everyone has different expectations, which means audiences are seriously watching dramas and giving their opinions, which is a good thing." She said winning an award isn't the effort of just one person but a result of the whole team's effort. "I fear disappointing those who gave me opportunities, so every time I act, I try my best to do it well!"
Talking about her feelings after winning the Best Actress award, 龚嘉欣 admitted that the pressure has increased. "I have a cabinet at home for awards, starting to place from the lowest shelf, and now this Best Actress award is placed at the top. Every day when I walk out of my room, I see it, which gives me tremendous motivation and encourages me to keep doing my best."
She revealed that a new drama she shot with 黎耀祥 (Wayne Lai), 'The Hidden Map of Hong Kong,' will be aired this year, marking their second collaboration since 'Death By Zero.' She joked, "The next senior I most want to work with is still him because I can learn a lot from him, and I haven't finished learning yet!" Last year, 龚嘉欣 challenged herself by hosting the variety show 'At-Home Feast with 50 Dishes,' and she said this year she will focus on participating in variety shows and is involved in live streaming work, expressing that live streaming work is very refreshing and she looks forward to more freshness in the future.
