(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications are pleased to announce the official launch of Brunei Digital Identity (Brunei Identiti Digital), abbreviated as BruneiID. This is a national-level digital identity system, serving as a tool for personal electronic identification.
This initiative demonstrates the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei's firm commitment to strengthening national digital governance, and is dedicated to providing the public with secure, convenient, and user-friendly government digital services.
BruneiID enables citizens and residents to authenticate their digital identity through a single sign-on mechanism when accessing online government services and supports biometric authentication. The system is developed based on stringent security and privacy principles. The biometric authentication process is performed only on the user's local device, while personal data is protected in accordance with the government's established security and data protection requirements.
In the initial implementation phase, BruneiID will support identity verification based on identity card information for accessing some government digital platforms, including the Public Service Commission recruitment system, the Business Reporting Portal, TransportBN, BruHealth, E-Undi, and the Darussalam Hotline 123 (TD123) mobile application. Other government digital services will be integrated in phases to ensure an orderly implementation process that meets government, security, and data protection requirements, while supporting the national public service digital transformation and digital economy framework.
The public can complete registration via the BruneiID mobile application, which will be available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store starting January 3, 2026.
For more information (including user guides and feedback channels), please visit the official BruneiID website: www.brunei-id.gov.bn. The public is encouraged to provide feedback to support the continuous improvement of BruneiID.
For further inquiries or assistance, the public can contact the Darussalam Hotline 123 (TD123).
