57-year-old Taiwanese host Shen Yulin was unexpectedly diagnosed with leukemia in July and is currently hospitalized receiving intensive treatment. According to reports from ETtoday Star News, Shen Yulin is expected to be discharged after the Lantern Festival, and negotiations for a new program are already underway. He will have monthly follow-up blood tests, and if his condition remains stable, it would mean he has defeated the illness.
Shen Yulin has been hospitalized for almost half a year now, undergoing a total of four consolidation treatments of which three have been completed. Between treatments, he is allowed to go home for a few hours, but for a full return to work and discharge, he will have to wait until after the Lunar New Year. However, he will still respect his physician's decision. Shen Yulin is currently in good condition; each day in the hospital, he watches dramas, reads books, does ultra-slow jogging, and plays guitar. He is even negotiating new shows, indicating that he is indeed recovering well.
