(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) A delegation from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Jakarta, Indonesia recently made a working visit to Brunei, during which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation.
This visit was led by Mr. Pavel Drlík, Commercial Attaché of the Czech Embassy, accompanied by Mr. Ivan Kamenik, President of Czech Trade Indonesia, Dr. Vladimir Sys, Founder of Agile Europe, and Mr. Jiri Hruska, Agile Europe's Regional Director for Asia. The delegation was supported by Shaikh Khalid Shaikh Ahmad, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic to Brunei Darussalam, who facilitated high-level meetings with key stakeholders in Brunei.
The purpose of the visit was to identify potential areas for cooperation in trade, investment, and business development. Discussions focused on strategic sectors for joint ventures, technology transfer, and strengthening connections between the private sectors of both countries.
During the visit, the delegation engaged with several prominent figures in Brunei’s business community, including Daniel Leong, CEO of the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), Haji Abdul Saman, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brunei Darussalam (NCCIBD), and Amira Amli, Second Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei (YEAB).
Both sides expressed optimism about enhanced cooperation and emphasized the importance of building meaningful partnerships in an increasingly interconnected global economy. The Czech delegation also highlighted Brunei's strategic role as a gateway to the broader ASEAN market.
