A 26-year-old Chinese fitness influencer, Bi Jiaqi, recently died suddenly in his sleep, a piece of news that has shocked the internet and the fitness community.
According to reports by 'NetEase News', this influencer frequently shared workout videos on social media, becoming known for his well-defined muscles and dedicated training. It is reported that Bi Jiaqi participated in bodybuilding competitions last year, had just received the keys to a new house recently, and was planning to celebrate the post-competition feast with friends, but unexpectedly passed away.
Friends revealed that during a recent gathering playing Mahjong, they noticed Bi Jiaqi appeared fatigued and his lips were purple, indicating that he might already have been experiencing some health issues. One friend shared that reviewing their chat history still feels as if he is around, which is quite poignant.
Some netizens, after looking at Bi Jiaqi's photos, speculated that the cause of death may be related to myocardial infarction. Medically, purple lips are usually a sign of hypoxia, which could be related to heart or lung disease, or poor blood circulation. If not caused by cold weather, it requires immediate medical attention.
The report noted that earlier this year, Bi Jiaqi had once joked that his 'head was swollen like a steamed bun', and his fitness partners believed it was a normal reaction to extreme fat loss before competitions.
Experts point out that some bodybuilders, in pursuit of the ultimate physique, resort to extreme fat loss and high-intensity training, which can place excessive stress on the heart. Bi Jiaqi’s sudden death has sparked public concern about extreme training practices in bodybuilding.
