Sebastian Ting Inspects Landslide Disaster Area, Urges Citizens to Enhance Vigilance for Safety

(Miri, 29th) Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Sarawak, visited the landslide site at Kampung Lereng Bukit in Miri this afternoon upon arriving in Miri to understand the situation.

Chen Chao Yao urged the citizens of Miri to remain vigilant, especially with the recent continuous heavy rainfall, leading to natural disasters such as floods and landslides. Therefore, the public must keep an eye on weather forecasts to ensure their own safety.

He stated that the government is closely monitoring the disaster situation and is doing its best to assist affected families in overcoming difficulties, while also urging all sectors of society to lend a helping hand to families in need and jointly face the challenges brought by this natural disaster.

Chen Chao Yao expressed condolences to the families affected by the floods and landslides, especially to the families who lost their loved ones in the landslide incident, expressing deep sympathy.
